Learning to draw a wide range of animal textures, from fur to scales, requires learning many line patterns and techniques. None are complicated, but it does take practice to understand which type of line will best mimic the short fur on a mouse body compared to the long and thick coat found on a llama, or which type of line creates the dry, bumpy feel found on a toad versus the wet, smooth feel found on a whale.
