I flew out of Paris before the Mauritius leg of this trip, so I got to experience a classic European-style high-speed train ride from Brussels to Franceâthe first time Iâd ever ridden a train in Europe. (The on-board snacks had nothing on South Korea, but I loved the experience nonetheless.) Club Monaco sweater; Louis Vuitton trolley suitcase.
ANTWERP
As I mentioned earlier, in October 2017 Tiffany & Co. gave me the opportunity to learn about its business and the sustainability practices that go into mining and finishing its diamonds during an amazing two-part trip that began in Antwerp and continued to Mauritius. While the Mauritius portion focused on discovering the ways Tiffany & Co. taps into the local economy to mine and refine its stones, Antwerp is where I learned about the Belgian cityâs storied jewel heritage, and why itâs been considered the diamond capital of the world for more than five hundred years.
The vibrant Dutch-speaking, Flemish city was the perfect place to spend four days exploring, and I discovered a charming, manageable city that has a thriving art and design scene, gorgeous medieval architecture andâimportantlyâamazing thick-cut French fries with mayo, a local specialty. The weather in Antwerp, especially in autumn, is known for being gloomy at best, but while I was there I was so lucky to experience sunny days that allowed for perfect on-foot exploration. I fell madly in love with this special place.
Exploring by foot on a rare warm, bright day. We had the weather fates on our side for sure.
At Graanmarkt 13, one of the most beautiful concept stores Iâve ever seen (and Iâve seen a lot of them). We ate at the basement restaurant before getting a tour of a private, minimalist-luxe, shop-attached apartment upstairsâwhich is available for rent. How cool is that? Self-Portrait jumpsuit; Tiffany & Co. jewelry
The private apartment at Graanmarkt 13. Moving in, ASAP.
Day one, during a walking tour of the city with Jacopo. Tibi blazer, Chanel bag
Our hotel had the sweetest little courtyard, where we had breakfast each morning of the trip and totally felt like we were hanging out at someoneâs house. Self-Portrait jumpsuit; Amanda Wakeley shoes.
Our last day in Antwerp. The Tiffany team and I went sightseeing with a man who Iâm convinced is the best tour guide in the city. I have no other reference point, but he had so much passion for his town and we learned so much that I feel qualified to give him that title.
Each room at the cozy, eclectic Hotel De Witte Lelieâwhere we stayedâis completely different. While waiting for the rest of the group to go to dinner, Nathan from the Tiffany & Co. team was kind enough to take a photo of Jacopo and I on the most incredible leopard-print sofa, using his iPhone. I art directed, obviously. Self-Portrait lace top; Frame leather pants
Another hotel shot. So eclectic and cool.
We rented a small boat and day-tripped to a few little beaches to swim. Jacopo shot this at one of those out-of-the-way spots.
CAPRI
Jacopo and I have an amazing time together wherever we are (chillinâ at home very much included), but Capri in June 2016 is one of my favorite trips Iâve done with him, hands down. We started in Milan and I had these outlandish ideas of what Capri would be like from movies and TV showsâglamour, yachts, and Jackie O. Then Jacopo took me on a ferry from Naples to Capri, on which everyone seemed to be getting motion sickness (definitely not the luxe Capri of my daydreams). I was so mad at him, and he was only trying to show me an authentic version of how real Italians travel. I didnât get over my anger until we arrived and I saw the beauty of our surroundings, and I felt such immense gratitude not only for being in such a gorgeous place, but for having Jacopo with me. We made up and ended up having a perfectly lovely, relaxing vacation together. True amore.
If we werenât walking in Capri, we were on a scooter. Caroline Constas top
Marysia Swim cover-up; Raye sandals.
We did Capri in a way that felt very down-to-earth (you can do it the opposite way, too). We definitely partook in touristy things, but nothing was super over-the-top or too glam. We took ferries, walked everywhere, and hung out with Jacopoâs friends who live there. It all felt very âItalian,â and I so enjoyed how real everything felt and not like a magazine editorial, as is the case sometimes when I travel for work.

Every day I felt like I was in an old Italian film...
