A PRACTICAL CALCULATION METHOD OF QUASI-STATIC CURVING PERFORMANCE OF RAILWAY BOGIE VEHICLES
Nobuo Matsui
Technical Research Center, Tokyu Car Corporation, Yokohama, Japan
SUMMARY
This study is intended to obtain a calculation method of quasi-static curving performance of railway bogie vehicles consisting of both 6 and 14 degrees of freedom systems. In this analysis, the non-linear characteristics of contact forces between wheel and rail are taken into consideration, and the successive approximation method is applied to carry out the numerical calculations.
Although there are still areas which are in need of more detailed study, an experimental evidence suggests that this method is adequate for use in the predictions on curving performance of railway bogie vehicl...
