Chapter 6
The Investigation of Jesus
Pray this out loud:
Lord Jesus, it is in your name that I pray. I claim the blood of Jesus over me today. As I read this book and the scriptures in it, which are the living Words of God, let it penetrate into my heart. I command my thoughts and my thinking to be under the obedience of Christ Jesus. I send panic into the enemyās camp that confuses Satanās language so that they will attack one another. Do not let there be any communication of any kind. I ask God to release angels from Michaelās quarters to attack now. I command every demon to be silent in Jesusās name so the Word of God can teach me. I bind up every unclean spirit that is working against me. I bind up every spirit that is trying to confuse me. Break me free from them, in Jesusās mighty name. Reveal the truth to me today, Lord Jesus. I loosen in Jesusās name freedom, understanding, love, healing, hope, wholeness, and protection over my mind, in Jesusās name. Thank you, Jesus. In Jesusās name, I pray. Amen.
This chapter has many scripture verses to give answers to questions we all have through our lives.
1. Who did Jesus die for?
For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God. (John 3:16ā18)
Everyone.
āFor as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made aliveā (1 Corinthians 15:22). Adam to now and future.
āWho gave Himselfāa ransom for all, a testimony at the proper timeā (1 Timothy 2:6). Ransom for all.
āIn fact, we labor and strive for this, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of everyone, especially of those who believeā (1 Timothy 4:10). Everyone, especially those who believe.
āWe all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished Him for the iniquity of us allā (Isaiah 53:6). All.
āBut we do see Jesusāmade lower than the angels for a short time so that by Godās grace He might taste death for everyoneācrowned with glory and honor because of His suffering in deathā (Hebrews 2:9). Everyone.
āHe doesnāt need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests doāfirst for their own sins, then for those of the people. He did this once for all when He offered Himselfā (Hebrews 7:27). Once for all.
āHe entered the most holy place once for all, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemptionā (Hebrews 9:12). Once for all.
āOtherwise, He would have had to suffer many times since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared one time, at the end of the ages, for the removal of sin by the sacrifice of Himselfā (Hebrews 9:26). One sacrifice for the world.
āBy this will of God, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for allā (Hebrews 10:10). Once for all.
āHe Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world (1 John 2:2). The whole world.
āFor while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodlyā (Romans 5:6). For the ungodly.
āFor in light of the fact that He died, He died to sin once for all; but in light of the fact that He lives, He lives to Godā (Romans 6:10). For all.
āFor Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believesā (Romans 10:4). Everyone.
āFor Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring you to God, after being put to death in the fleshly realm but made alive in the spiritual realmā (1 Peter 3:18). Once for all.
āFor this is the will of My Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last dayā (John 6:40). Everyone who believes.
āYouāre not considering that it is to your advantage that one man should die for the people rather than the whole nation perish.ā He did not say this on his own, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation (John 11:50ā51). For the nation.
āFor through the law I have died to the law, so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for meā (Galatians 2:19ā20). Himself for me.
Where does it say that Jesus did not die for all mankind?
It does not say maybe Christ died for you. It does not say perhaps God so loved you. It does not say maybe Jesus shed His blood for you.
When plain sense makes good sense, seek no other sense, lest it result in nonsense:
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their unrestrained ways, and the way of truth will be blasphemed because of them. (2 Peter 2:1ā2)
We need to make a difference between redemption accomplished and redemption applied.
Jesus Christ died for all, but He must be accepted.
Christ must save everyone He died for. If Christ died for everyone, then everyone will be saved. Really?
So if medicine is available for everyone, then everyone must be healed. This, of course, is false. It will only heal those who take it. Even then not all medicines save lives 100 percent of the time. Only Jesus does that.
Just as Jesus Christ can only save those who accept Him, redemption was accomplished only on the cross, but redemption applied is only when we accept Him.
There is enough cool water for every person in town. Does that mean that every person in town will have their thirst quenched? Only if every person drinks.
So yes, the Bible is literal. Jesus Christ died for all mankind, but to be saved, you have to accept Him.
2. Do we have a choice for salvation?
When I was young, a neighbor boy came over and saw me in the kitchen. He quietly sneaked in on me and scared me. I got really mad at him. Not because he scared me but because he just walked into my house uninvited. No one knew he was coming, and he did not knock. It was wrong for him to just walk into our house.
Just as it is wrong for any human to walk into any other humanās house uninvited, so it is wrong for Jesus to come into my heart and life uninvited. Jesus will not open the door.
āListen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Meā (Revelation 3:20).
It says, āI stand at the door.ā It does not say, āI will break it down,ā or I āwill sneak in when you donāt see me.ā Jesus will also not force us to live with Him. If you open the door. Ifāthat means you can choose to leave it shut.
āTherefore I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sinsā (John 8:24). If you do not believe.
āI assure you: If anyone keeps My word, he will never see deathāever!ā (John 8:51). If.
āAnd Philip said, āIf you believe with all your heart you may.ā And he replied, āI believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of Godā (Acts 8:37). If.
āIf you confess with your mouth, āJesus is Lord,ā and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be savedā (Romans 10:9). Again, if.
Yes, we have a choice. We can choose heaven or hell.
3. When is regeneration? When?
āI assure you: Anyone who believes has eternal lifeā (John 6:47). Anyone who believes.
āThen he escorted them out and said, āSirs, what must I do to be saved?ā So they said, āBelieve on the Lord Jesus, and you will be savedāyou and your householdāā (Acts 16:30ā31). Believe and you will be saved.
āWhen they heard this, they came under deep conviction and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles: āBrothers, what must we do?ā āRepent,ā Peter said to them, āand be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spiritāā (Acts 2:37ā38). Repent.
āBut these are written so that you ma...
