My Inner Room

Come, Holy Spirit, and inflame my heart.

I seek to understand;

Your wisdom, love, and constant light—

Please guide me by the hand.

Breathe in me Your breath of life.

Awake my sleeping soul.

Meet me in my inner room,

The place where we are whole.

I find my Jesus waiting there

In my sacred room and space.

His eyes light up; invites me in;

A smile upon His face.

It’s here I whisper gently to Him

My deepest, inmost thoughts.

My fears, my hurts, my joys, my love.

I open up my heart.

His loving eyes are gentle.

Reproach, I do not find.

He stands and hugs me tightly.

His words are soft and kind.

In my ear, He whispers

The words I long to hear;

“I will always love you.”

“You will always find Me here.”
