About This Book

Anna Johnson has always had a flair for poetry and journaling. Her Writings, as she calls them, are stories of some of her adventures over the past fourteen years. She has been writing them in a poetic style that she hopes will inspire her readers. These short stories of people, places, and pets have motivational messages, and she hopes that they will capture the hearts of many. The author grew up in a quaint little town (Pismo Beach) on the Central California coast, where many of her stories were inspired. Married with three sons, the author traveled both in America and Europe during her husband's career in the military. In her later years, she attended college where she majored in sociology. She continued her flair for writing and says that it is never too late to follow your dream when inspirations come, no matter what you do along the way.

There was a caterpillar, a butterfly to be.
One day he climbed high up in a tree.
When he reached the very top
He was happy as could be.
He looked all around to see what he could see!
He looked high above and saw a bird soaring by.
And someday he said,
ā€œI too will fly!ā€
He looked down below
And saw people rushing by.
They seemed in such a hurry,
He wondered why?
His mind was full of wonder
At all the sights and sounds
As he started his journey
Back down to the ground.
He hardly noticed
As his body started to slip.
He fell to the ground
And over he would flip.
For a tiny caterpillar,
It was a terrible thing
Because when youā€™re lying on your back
You canā€™t do a thing.
When he finally awakened
And opened his eyes,
He suddenly became frightened
To realize his demise.
He saw the people coming.
ā€œHelp me!ā€ he cried.
But they just looked around
and simply rushed on by.
ā€œPlease!ā€ he cried, ā€œsomeone turn me over
Thatā€™s all I need.ā€
But the people just rushed right on by
Ignoring his tiny pleas.
He wiggled and struggled
and tried to turn over,
But his body was too long
and he couldnā€™t maneuver.
ā€œItā€™s almost time
