About This Book

Scriptures for Life was written to help anyone who does not read the Bible on a consistent basis. Face it, the Bible, even though it is the ultimate word of God and is the instruction book for our life on earth, can be difficult to read. Sometimes it is hard to find just that right scripture that will resonate. The book contains over 1, 100 scriptures divided into 38 categories. Each category includes a narrative followed by the scriptures that apply to that category.Scriptures for Life is not intended to replace regular Bible study. Rather, it is designed to bring the scriptures out for easy reading. Any scripture that appeals to the reader should be followed up by referencing the Bible to discover the context of the verse.

Salvation
As outlined in God’s plan, mankind has the option to save itself from eternal damnation. Jesus came into the world in the flesh and lived among men. He experienced all the things you experience. He felt pain, sadness, happiness, love, and all the other emotions you share as a human being. But the difference was that Jesus was perfect. He never sinned. He never gave in to temptation. He never gave up His intended goal, which was to present the plan of salvation to man, then to die and to rise again. In dying, He sacrificed Himself for your sins. All you had to do was to accept the free gift of life He left for you. He, Himself, had a choice to accept God’s plan or reject it, and He accepted it emphatically near the end of His earthly reign.
I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6, NIV)
Father, if you are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will but Yours be done. (Luke 22:42, NIV)
There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. (Rom. 8:1–2, NIV)
God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8, NASB)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23, NASB)
If we love other Christians it proves that we have been delivered from hell and given eternal life. But a person who doesn’t have love for others is headed for eternal death. (1 John 3:14, TLB)
The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (John 12:25, NIV)
Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12, NIV)
He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides in him. (John 3:36, NASB)
For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. (John 3:16–17, NIV)
Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. (Heb. 9:27–28, NIV)
For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life. (Gal 6:8, NASB)
For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord, and believe in your own heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Rom. 10:9, TLB)
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Rom. 10:10, NIV)

For anyone who keeps his life for himself shall lose it; and anyone who loses his life for me shall find it again. What profit is there if you gain the whole world—and lose eternal life? What can be compared with the value of eternal life? (Matt. 16:25–26, NASB)
If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. (Matt. 16:24, NIV)
