Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
SEO is the technique of promoting a website in order to improve its rankings so that a site receives maximum number of visitors organically from search engines. Search Engine Ranking is essential to generate traffic because user generally clicked on the search results that are listed on the first page. Clearly thereās a big advantage for any web-owner, if they can rank their website high in the search engine results.
Google and others search engines ranks website according to relevancy, value and user experience. If you can improve your website for these three aspects, you can stay at the top for long time. Each search engine has its own distinctive ranking criteria and uses their ingenious algorithm which weighs each criterion accordingly.
KEYWORD FUNDAMENTALS
This is the most important factor in the organic search engine optimization. The fact is webmasters have to select the precise keywords for their business, products/services and their target market. Owner must keep in mind that they need to identify with their targeting audience and then build their search engine optimization strategy around that audience.
Basically keywords are the requisites and phrases that the target audience uses when searching for the particular products and services that the owner of the website is offering. Then according to the ranking of the website on the major search engines and directories it will be shown on that page.
The owner of the site must choose keyword phrases that will bring constant targeted traffic consisting of potential customers. It becomes important to research and validate the keywords for the search queries.

Keyword prominence ā As the name suggest, it is essential to place the keywords in the text is at the top of each webpage, essentially the main page. For better search hits it is important to place the keywords at the start of the page or at the beginning of a sentence which is the prominent area. A Serach engine algorithm uses this concept to search the relevant data for the user.
Keyword Proximity: A Search engine uses the concept of "keyword proximity" in their ranking algorithm. As suggested by the name, "keyword proximity" means the how close keywords are to each other. Then it becomes essential to place the keywords as close together as possible and make sure your sentences are clear.
Take an example:
We have been selling Hair gain products for over five years.
We have been selling products for hair gain for over five years.
In this case if visitor search for āHair gain productsā, the first sentence will rank higher because its keywords are closer to each other.
Keyword Frequency: It is used by search engine to evaluate the number of times keywords occur within a page's text. Search engines actually looks for the more than one repetition of a keyword in the text to make sure it's not a secluded off from the body. The suggested repetition is 3-7 times.
Keyword Density: - This concept is defined as the number of occurrences of a keyword divided by the total word count. It is recommended to keep the initial density in between 1-7%. However, this number may have to vary depending on the level of competition. Owner must not worry if their initial density is lower than that of your competitors as the main rule is to keep mentioning the keywords in the text body and it must be kept in mind that text with constant repetition of the same words becomes a code created by machine ,so it must be avoided.
Anchors and Links: - This is the part of the hyperlink that is viewed by the visitor on a webpage i.e. The Clickable text. The keywords placed in anchor text augments the relevance of the target page pertaining to the keywords used. The real beneficiary here is the target page URL.
