Dedication
First, I would like to bow deeply to the thousands of patients who have helped me understand the complexities of this disease process and who need to take credit for the time spent with them in refining this protocol over many years.
All these patients over the years have been my “laboratory” for developing many treatment protocols through trial and error, backed by research.
I would also like to thank all the researcher scientists, lecturers and teachers who dedicate their life to helping others, and all the courageous health professionals who go against the grain of the establishment, while thinking outside the box.
A loving hug of gratitude to my wife and 4 children for their support and understanding during my professional endeavours throughout these years – they are all blessed.
Finally, I deeply embrace the Divine faith that I have been blessed with, that has helped me believe in the innate healing abilities of the body, through the power of Natural healing, without chemical intervention.
A profound blessing to you all and may your healing journey be fruitful and fulfilling!

Chapter 1: The Da Vinci Psoriasis Protocol
Introduction
If someone were to tell you that they wanted to commit suicide because they had a “skin condition” you would think that they were crazy! How can a simple skin condition, whatever it may be, cause a person to want to take their own life?
Well, having seen many patients with psoriasis during my 35-years of clinical practice, I have witnessed this myself on several occasions, mainly in women suffering with psoriasis, and it is devastating and very sad to watch and hear such people.
Psoriasis is not just any skin condition that is temporary and that will go away with a few applications of cream. Psoriasis is like a raging bull that keeps coming at you and you must keep ducking and diving, while trying to live a “normal” life at work and at home.

Psoriasis can have devastating emotional consequences that are difficult to fathom and understand if you are not the sufferer. I remember a few years ago when a 40-year old female patient walked into my office with a sweater in the hot summer heat of Cyprus, sat in front of me and said that this was her last stop before going to the other side – she was deadly serious! When we began taking a history and she showed me the extent of her psoriasis, I began to understand why she may be feeling so depressed.
When she took off her sweater, I could see no skin from her neck down to her waist – she was full of red-raw, scaly skin with whitish, flaking particles that stuck to her clothes. She had difficulty sleeping due to the itching and the flaking and her husband had recently decided to sleep in a separate bedroom as he could not stand not sleeping either. You can read more about this case in the Appendix as I present her as a fully documented case history to understand what she was going through. I will simply say at this point that there was a happy ending as within 90-days she was completely free of psoriasis and her mood and life came back on track and she was elated!
This is probably one of the worst cases of psoriasis that I have ever seen in my career, even though I have treated many hundreds of cases over the years. One of my first cases many years ago was a 35-year old male who was a very charming gentleman, kind and gentle and full of charisma. Underneath, however, he was harbouring a deep depression that had been going on because of the consequences of his psoriasis – this is probably the second worse-case that I have ever seen.
When he took his shirt off, again I literally could not see a square inch of normal skin – he was full of reddish and whitish patches of scaly skin that was flaking everywhere, along with a lot of itchiness and an uncomfortable feeling. As we began diagnosing and treating his condition over the next few months, he confided in me that he was still a virgin as he never had the courage to go out with a woman because of his condition and had spent his time just socializing and then returning to the safety of his family home. He so wanted to find a partner to settle down with and have a family, but he could not understand how any woman would want to be intimate with him with such a skin condition.
I say that he was quite sociable as he was politically active, and as it transpired, he was the President of the Psoriasis Association that existed in those days. Needless to say, when he was completely free of psoriasis over the next few months, I was inundated with new referrals from his Association, all suffering from psoriasis, and my learning curve took a steep incline as I managed to work out protocols to help these people.
So, hopefully now you can begin to understand how psychologically and emotionally devastating this condition can be, but then again, the chances of you reading this book is that you or a loved one are already sufferers.
Indeed, a population-based cohort study in the UK, published in the Archives of Dermatology suggests (Shanu et al, 2010):
Psoriasis patients have an increased risk of depression, anxiety, and suicidality. We estimate that in the UK, in excess of 10,400 diagnoses of depression, 7,100 diagnoses of anxiety, and 350 diagnoses of suicidality are attributable to psoriasis annually. It is important for clinicians to evaluate patients with psoriasis for these conditions in order to improve outcomes. Future investigation should determine the mechanisms by which psoriasis is associated with psychiatric outcomes as well as approaches for prevention.”
These are quite frightening statistics, as this is almost one human being per day in UK killing themselves because they cannot live within their skin.
So, let us look at what is psoriasis exactly and what can we do to get rid of this nasty condition quickly and effectively.

Psoriasis – What is it?
Unpredictable and irritating, psoriasis is one of the most baffling and persistent of skin disorders. It's characterized by skin cells that multiply up to 10 times faster than normal. As underlying cells reach the skin's surface and die, their sheer volume causes raised, red plaques covered with white scales. Psoriasis typically occurs on...
