About This Book

Angela Jane Stocks has sold everything from wet fish to property. She was told many years ago that she could sell ice to the Inuit, so she is confident therefore that she can also encourage readers to buy her book, and that her poems will relate to many episodes that may have happened at sometime in their lives. Angela hopes the readers will relax and sink into the magical emotions that she portrays through her poems. She has learned how to write poems slanted towards any genre, which resonate and play on people's heartstrings, and bring real emotion and memories, which relate to life's comings and goings. She feels that her poetry is unique and so very different to how readers presume poems to be!Here's a brief glimpse of a couple of lines from one of the poems, which relates to all of us in our lives because without friends, where would we be? Let's dangle the carrot and give you a sneaky peek. You know you want to buy the book ā€“ it would be rude not to!"Friends may come and friends may goBut it's all about the seeds you sow."

Bob and Alice

Congratulations on this your wedding day,
Till death do you part, love honour and obey,
Your life together will be as one,
Your exciting journey has now begun.
What a beautiful couple inside and out,
You are joined at the hip without a doubt,
It was love at first sight the day you both met,
Bob breaking out in a very hot sweat!
You glanced at each other in the College grounds
Bob not knowing if Alice was out of bounds,
He asked her to be his date at the College Xmas Ball,
Sweat pouring from his brow, did he have any chance at all?
He saw the words leave her lips hoping she would say yes,
Alice nodded very shyly, noticing Bob was in a mess.
Their love for each other grew day by day,
Hearts entwined during work, rest and play.
In her gown of tulle and lace,
Bob can see like us that Alice looks ace!!
He now has his Queen and she her King,
Showing their commitment on the blessing of each ring.
Letā€™s raise our glasses to them both,
We have witnessed them swear on an oath.
Great times ahead to sew their tapestry,
Bob and Alice, today we salute thee!

Bright Side of Life

We have to look on the bright side of life and live it to the full,
Always look on the positive donā€™t be negative or dull,
None of us know when our time will run out,
When we can no longer from the rooftops shout.
We must look death in the eye and say we are not ready
For the castle in the sky, instead we are strong and steady,
Live every day like itā€™s our last one on earth,
Wake up every morning as if itā€™s your first day of birth.
As we get older hours seem like minutes, years like days,
Our memories with friends and family gone in a haze,
Letā€™s enjoy ourselves and give thanks for this precious gift,
Embrace every second, it will give your morals a lift.

Daughter

Oh, daughter of mine I love you so much,
Your face, your smile and your tender touch...
