Two
One We are fifteen.
Two We are wearing clothes that were donated to us by a large man who smelt of cabbage somewhere on our journey to England.
One I look older than I am.
Two I look fifteen.
One I am very very gentle and move slowly.
Two I am quick and direct and have a severe limp from something that happened on my way here in an incident involving a woman and a cat. Itâs been here for months and I donât know if itâll ever go away. I donât want to tell you how I got it. We are best friends. Like proper best friends like you are with your best friend. We stay up and talk about everything and we have a very good understanding now of the perfect type of girl. Basically that they are funny and donât mind doing sex.
One Our parents met in classes in how to have babies.
Two When they gave birth we became best friends.
One We were born on the same day we were literally straight out of the vagina and into best friends.
Two We were probably the first people ever to be make friends that quickly from the vagina. And we have spent at least a part of every day together since.
One We come from nice families.
Two We are quite wealthy.
One My parents were a lecturer in economics and a psychotherapist. Sorry my parents are a lecturer in economics and a psychotherapist.
Two Mine is the biggest seller of meat in the city and a popular singer.
One Mine are very religious.
Two Mine do all that but donât really believe in God. Itâs just to make the neighbours like them.
One Itâs hard to talk about them.
Two We miss them and we donât know when we will see them again. So we donât like spending too much time thinking about them. Weâre glad we have each other to remind us of home. I donât know what I would have done without him.
One I love him.
Two He is the only person I can really talk to. With everyone else I pretend I am amazing and hard and strong but itâs only him that really gets me.
One Who would have thought that the best person in your life would be born at the same time, in the same city, in the same hospital.
Two Our town is a small town near a big city.
One Itâs surrounded by fields
Two There are trains that go into the city
One Schools
Two Shops
One Everything. Itâs nice.
Two Especially the girls.
One Itâs somewhere that people from Europe have been going for hundreds of years.
Two Somewhere that has made Europeans rich.
One Europeans being there has meant it is now been torn apart. Our town is half rubble and full of fear.
Two We donât want to talk about the town or the journey.
One You know the stories so imagine them.
Two And we are male.
One It is even worse for women.
Two But we left and came here. To a city we donât know. In England.
One We came to England because itâs the best. It has the the best schools, the best jobs, the most money, and the best financial centre where I want to work one day.
Two It also has lots of refugees who are happy here we hear from our families.
One Lots of people wait for ages but eventually make a life here and stop being refugees and start being accountants, or artists, or teachers or what ever.
Two Also they make the best films, football and music, and as the furthest away itâs the least subscribed so there is more chance of getting in. Plus it has the best girls.
One He wants to come here to live the life of a teenager, get girls, make friends, play football, and do all the things he wanted to do at home but couldnât because of what happened.
Two He wants to come here to work hard, learn, and take advantage of the schools and businesses here in England.
One Growing up we were taught that England was the best and taught the world how to live.
Two We watched the Premier League and the BBC.
One Liverpool FC.
Two And Doctor Who.
One We love England.
Two Despite what it did to our home.
One And now we are here. We have travelled over sand, and mud, and sea. We are very tired and because we are very tired we are lying down in the shadows, opposite a shop called Marks and Spencers, waiting to see someone who looks like they might help us.
Two We were told to look for someone who looks like us or is at least black. We were told that when we get here we are not to trust white people. We did lots of research with people who had to leave the UK and they all said donât trust white people.
One We were told white people are 30/70 nice to nasty by our families. So weâre cautious.
Two Weâre naturally concerned because we have researched it but I will also say Iâm more than happy to date white girls if theyâre interested.
One Our bodies need water and food.
Two We look thin but not like good thin like bad thin. Sick thin. If the girls saw us like this they wouldnât want to kiss us they would think we were ill.
One We have not slept much for as long as we can remember. Lots of nights having to...
