About This Book

This book brings up insights and challenges of the Media Council of Tanzania, but in relation to other media councils in Africa and the world at large. The main issue is whether these media councils play a major role in enhancing ethical standards and perceptions. From the research made, the author discovers that that the Media council of Tanzania plays a minor role in the aspect above although that is one big role that they have to offer. From this perspect, the author suggests that the Media educators/researchers should invest more time doing research in order to know whether their graduates have made difference in ethical standards and journalism career. The study revealed that most schools of journalism and mass communications have had less research works. However, the development of ethical framework is needed; so media theorists and organizations like MCT should live up with that challenge.
