En 2010, deux géologues de l'Université de Genève, Stéphanie Girardclos et Katrina Kremer, en campagne sur le Léman, découvrent une anomalie sédimentaire dans les profondeurs du lac. Seul un événement extraordinaire, hors norme, a pu la provoquer. En quelques instants, une énigme vieille de 1500 ans, une légende pour beaucoup, devient un fait scientifique avéré. Comme en témoigne un manuscrit du Moyen-Âge, c'est bien un tsunami qui a dévasté les rivages du plus grand lac d'Europe occidentale faisant des centaines de victimes. Mais que s'est-il donc passé en cette année 563? Et surtout se pourrait-il que cela se reproduise un jour? En 2018, une découverte archéologique majeure est venue s'ajouter au dossier du Tauredunum. C'est elle qui justifie cette nouvelle édition. Désormais, la catastrophe de 563 repose sur deux preuves incontestables: l'une au fond du lac, l'autre sur terre.
