El primero al que queremos referirnos es al escrito por Mar Aguilera Vaqués, profesora titular de la Universidad de Barcelona, quien analiza la protección del medio ambiente por parte del Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos, el cual ha reconocido mediante su jurisprudencia el derecho al medio ambiente, siempre y cuando este afecte derechos de los reclamantes. A su turno, Carmen Tirado Robles, de la Universidad de Zaragoza, analiza los mecanismos de cumplimiento de las normas medioambientales en la Unión Europea, calificando a esta asociación económica y política como "campeona" en la defensa de las normas ambientales, por la eficiente defensa no solo del derecho comunitario sino también del derecho internacional ambiental.
