About This Book

Este texto tuvo como objetivo identificar cuellos de botella en el control a las cadenas de suministro de carne para frenar la deforestación. Surgió como un intento por comprender los problemas que tiene el Estado colombiano para evitar que la demanda de carne esté conectada con la destrucción de selvas en la región Amazónica. No es una investigación acabada, si no un primer acercamiento de Dejusticia a los dilemas que implica controlar mercados para conservar bosques. Para identificar los cuellos de botella, usamos análisis descriptivos de estadísticas sobre el mercado de carnes en Colombia, entrevistas a algunos actores involucrados en su control, así como a ganaderos, y fuentes secundarias sobre el tema. Encontramos tres cuellos de botella: una trazabilidad incompleta, el desgobierno en los eslabones de producción y los incentivos empresariales difusos. Al final proponemos algunas rutas de acción para enfrentar estos cuellos de botella.
